What is Formula Schools?

Formula Schools is an engineering scheme, which enables students and teachers to discover education and career pathways within an exciting context.

Students work as a team to design, build and race radio-controlled cars in three different categories with a link technology based employer.
Race Day is held at Silverstone Race Circuit and is a high profile national event with participation from key industry sectors and education partners in the ‘Careers Village’.

What are the educational benefits?

Delivered by educationalists with industrial backgrounds.

Schools are provided with materials and specialist support for curriculum delivery.

Can provide a complete curriculum delivery model with all resources for:

GCSE Engineering;

PEO (Performing Engineering Operations) at levels 1 and 2;

Curriculum model for the Young Apprentice programme

Developmental materials for the ‘Specialised Diploma’ in Engineering

All key support materials are available on-line, via telephone support and in person.

Regular visits to assist, implementation and delivery throughout the year,

Encompasses many other curriculum areas, requiring that teams develop marketing and business plans.

Schools are required to develop business links with local engineering companies.
