The first leg of Heat 7 was like a quiet Sunday afternoon
in the country with only two cars managing to comlpete laps,
Shirebrook with 2 and Forest Hills with 10.
As the second leg began it was clear that the teams would
have needed to put in some serious work in the pits to ensure
that there was to be any representation form this heat in
the GP Final. Thankfully for the large crowd, the hard work
had been done, and five cars registered completed laps, with
Forest Hills improving to score 10 laps.
Plantsbrooke, Haywood and Matthew Holland all achieved a
respectable score, but it was Shirebrook who took the honours
by completing 17 laps. Matthew Holland's last gasp effort
meant they qualified for the final in 18th position, much
to the dismay of George Spencer, who missed out by less than
a second!
