| Rookies Fulwood
made a promising start to their Formula Schools career,
but on witnessing the first heat they were less than complimentary
about the standard of racing. When Heat Four started they
found out that things are often not as easy as they look! |
Heat Four was a little spartan in terms of cars completing
laps, with only four cars registering in each heat. Ash Manor
were impressive in the first leg and qualified comfortably
for the Grand Prix , which was just as well, as they never
made it to the track in the second leg.
Coopers School from Kent spent most of the first leg trying
to overcome a problem with their bodywork, which worked itself
loose early on in the race. They were finally forced to return
to the pits as the car became stuck, but they still managed
an impressive 16 laps. Charles Darwin also qualified for the
Grand Prix. After a slow start to the first leg, they managed
16 laps in the second race.
The Ash Manor pit crew worked tirelessly throughout the second
leg to get their car back on the track, but to no avail. In
their absence, only Coopers and Charles Darwin managed double
figures in a relatively quiet heat.
