Heat Three was dominated by Kirk Hallam, with only Bishop Wand troubling them in the first leg. Indeed, the champions elect won the second leg by a stunning 16 laps! The team from Derbyshire stamped their authority on the heat from the earliest stage, setting a swift pace.

As many as eight cars took to the circuit in the first leg, but only Bishop Wand managed to achieve double figures in chasing Kirk Hallam, their 18 laps being enough to ensure their appearance in the final, which was just as well, as they did not register a lap in the second leg.
