As unofficial Formula Schools Tradition dictates, the first
heat was started by 2003 champions Langley Park, who looked
as though qualification was a foregone conclusion as they
showed the way in the first leg, clocking up an impressive
18 laps. Other schools found the first leg of the heat to
be much more difficult, with only Feltonfleet clocking up
double figures. There were also a number of noteworthy crashes
to give the crowd a taster of what was to come!
The second leg of Heat One was far more competitive with
both Feltonfleet and Shipston completing 15 laps. Unluckily
for them the cut for the Grand Prix Final came at 15 laps,
with both losing out because of a slower lap time. Langley
Park were the second leg winners too, but only just, as they
had the same number of completed laps as Sponne School.
