The Learning Grid meets the needs of students, teachers and businesses by setting a Quality Standard, support and often funding for inter-disciplinary programmes and competitions for young people that are linked to engineering, science, design, technology or mathematics. Some of the approved initiatives are included as part of the National Curriculum for those subjects and are designed to inspire young people through their experiences at school to become tomorrow's scientists, technicians, engineers and designers. Only those activities that have been scrutinised by an Independent panel of educationalists can use the 'Approved' stamp. |
